Jan 7th

AGNES MEADOWS  a worldwide performance poet and Director of Loose Muse at The Poetry Cafe and ANTHONY GLASER  brings his thoughtful and generous  words.

Feb 4th

MATTHEW CALEY  the  "formally outrageous culturally light-fingered"  poet shares his uncompromising poetry following the publication of his new collection  'Apparently' and new voice  KIRSTYN BROOKS a recently published exciting young poet  brings us her envigorating work.

Mar 4th

LIANE STRAUSS seduces us with poems ' held together by their impetus' and 'particle beam velocity' while ANTHONY PAUL novelist and poet draws on his experiences in Africa as he shares his work.

PETER PHILLIPS introduces us to wine poetry and Oscar through his bitter-sweet and funny poetry and CLAIRE BOOKER the  impressive wordsmith brings us the treat of her intricate poetic tales.

May 6th

SENI SENEVIRATNE with passionate intensity and faith in the power of reconciliation and love and FRANK MARIANI reciting his quirkily funny and curiously touching pieces.

June 3rd

CHRISTOPHER REID tells us all about 'Six Bad Poets' – let's hope we don't recognise ourselves tonight!  BALABA ASEKA brings a new eye to the everyday emotions and her own take on the world.

July 1st

ROSANNA RAYMOND a 'Teller of Tales' draws on her New Zealand and Samoan heritage with dramatic spoken word to introduce us with great physicality to Polynesian culture.

IAN MCEWEN trustee of Magma Poetry and organiser of Ouse Muse enlightens us about 'Intermittent Beings'  HOLLY HOPKINS winner of the Poetry Business pamphlet competition shares what we all should know – that 'Soon Every House Will Have One'.

Oct 7th

RUTH O'CALLAGHAN organises both Lumen and Camden poetry evenings and will read from her new collections.  PETER EVANS who is a founder member of Poets Anonymous in Croydon and presents poetry regularly on Radio Croydon brings us a fresh look at life with his fine verse .

Nov 3rd

MABS JONES is described as 'a whirlwind of controlled lyrical delirium' and is coming from Wales to show us. CHRIS HARDY presents us with some little machines of his own - fresh from a summer of festivals reading his own poetry.

Dec 2nd

JO SHAPCOTT  won The National Poetry Competition and numerous other awards - described as 'a pioneer among contemporary British writers' her poems having 'as much brio as her own dancing cow.' then RACHEL O'CONNOR brings us her open-hearted and very direct poetry.

Mar 5th MALIKA'S  POETRY KITCHEN a collective of excitingly fresh voices and also the humour and drama of JOHN WHEELER .
Apr 2nd GLYN MAXWELL – novelist. playwright and tonight for us an extraordinary poet and also showcasing HYLDA SIMS who will be our main reader in June plus LiTTLe MaCHiNe will bring us a tune or two as well.
May 7th JOHN HEGLEY poet comedian and BBC Radio favourite gives us 'Peace Love and Potatoes' while LIANE STRAUSS reassures us that 'We're all Fine' as she reads poems from 'Leaving Eden' alongside new work.
June 4th HYLDA SIMS brings us poetry and song as we explore 'Reaching Peckham' where 'Down Choumert Road – There's daffs a quid three bunches ….' and more from her collections.
June 30th BEYOND WORDS hosts 'The Poetry Trail' at  The CRYSTAL PALACE FESTIVAL.
July 2nd LiTTLe MACHiNe – rhyme and rhythm with poetry ancient and modern and a blast of brilliant music while PETER EBSWORTH will be sharing from his just published first collection.
Aug 6th SUMMER SPECIAL – lets have some fun! Free entry / Open mic / cake!
Sept 3rd ROS BARBER treats us to 'The Marlowe Papers' - simply thrilling poetry that brawls and loves its way through Christoper Marlowes alternative life.  'What can a dead man say that you will hear?' - then let MARS WILLIS surprise and enthrall you too with his wild and wonderful tales…
Oct 1st JOHN GREENING (previously awarded the Bridport and TLS Centenary Prize) this summer publishes 'To The War Poets' and we anticipate excellent poetry in a mix of old and new    In great contrast  SARAH REILLY plans to 'Unpack the Metaphor' for us this evening  – with the help of an old suitcase !
Nov 5th ORIGINAL POETS   – we welcome these Clapham based poets – founded by Andy Hickmott as a spin off from the Original Writers Group – to light up our bonfire night event and in a new adventure …       WENDY FRENCH introduces us to 'The Furry Dance'  a play for voices with music (and mayhem).
Dec 3rd KATHRYN MARIS is a winner of the prestigious Pushcart Prize and has two UK collections.       MAURICE REARDON has published several highly acclaimed collections one of which received the Michael Hartnett Award.  Beyond Words will then send you off back into the night with  a musical WINTER WARMER.

  November 6th;       ADNAN AL SAYEGH was lyrical and ‘SOUNDINGS’ had waves crashing round us

  October 30th;         SIMON BARRACLOUGH encouraged us to go PSYCHO

  October 2nd;           POETS SCRATCHING HEADS tickled our ears

  September 4th;      GALE BURNS’ poetry was unbearably good for our health and OCTAWIA PETRONELLA

  August 7th;              PARTY! Simply our excuse to relax and eat cake to celebrate our first six months!

  July 3rd;                   HANNAH LOWE gambled with our hearts till LiTTLe MACHiNe quickened their beat.

  June 5th;                 CLARE POLLARD was in best changeling form with Zakia Carpenter Hall

  May 1st;                    RODDY LUMSDEN gave us a ‘Mischief Night’ with Emily Hasler

  April 3rd;                PETER EBSWORTH and HANNAH LOWE brought us a taste of the South Bank

  March 6th;              RUTH O’CALLAGHAN – our inaugural poet will be remembered for a lope of time.
